Message

The novel The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins presents different messages. The story is set in a dystopian futuristic society in which current social issues are exaggerated and explored in different ways. 

One of the messages the novel presents is related to the class inequality present within Panem. The country features strict class divisions, which enable the wealthy government to abuse its power and control the population. The residents of the Capitol live in luxury and are kept entertained and are preoccupied with their appearance and, having all their needs met, most of them fail to think deeply about the society they live in and remain ignorant.
