The campaign against the past

Science is about researching and expanding existing knowledge. The society in the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is based on science and research. After the Nine Years War, the World Controller took command. The new government began to destroy everything that reminded people of the old world and carried out a “campaign against the past” (Chapter 3, 83%). This included the “the closing of museums, the blowing up of historical monuments (luckily most of them had already been destroyed during the Nine Years' War); by the suppression of all books published before A.F. 150.” (ibid.). Then religions were banned. “All crosses had their tops cut and became T's.” (Chapter 3, 86%).
