Happiness

In the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, the World State strives to make all of its citizens happy. The permanent happiness of the people is a central stabilizing element, which guarantees the unity and the stability of the society. The problem of happiness, or, in other words ‘how to get people to love their slavery’   has been solved in the brave new world. These four factors are crucial: conditioning, soma, consumption, and VPS (Violent Passion Surrogate)
