Political structure

The plot of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World takes place in the year 632 after Ford, which would correspond to the year 2540 according to today's calendar. The old world (the world at the beginning of the 20th century) has been replaced by a World State in this distant future. This ‘brave new world’ is ruled by ten World Controllers who have divided the world among themselves. Most of the action takes place in Western Europe, more precisely in London. Mustapha Mond is the responsible World Controller for this region.
