Literary perspective

The short story “Champagne Flight” by Jill Norris has several elements of modernist literature.

Modernist literature often uses a first-person narrator, who tells the story through their own subjective point of view. The events in the story are told entirely through the narrator’s perspective, and her impressions illustrate her limited worldview. At the end of the story, we witness a shift in the narrator’s perspective, as she gains a new understanding of growing old.
