The geographer

The geographer is an old gentleman who lives alone on the sixth planet, asteroid 330 in the novella The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. When he sees the little prince, he mistakes him for an explorer who wants to deliver a report to him. The geographer enters the notes of explorers into geography books. But he cannot work because there are no explorers to deliver their reports to him .

Mere reports are not enough for the geographer. He demands that the explorers also provide evidence for their observations. For example, if someone discovers a large mountain, the geographer demands that the explorer bring large stones. Without this evidence, the geographer does not write down a discovery because the danger is too great that the exp...
