Obedience

The novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne deals with the theme of obedience. The term obedience describes a behavior in which people  follow rules and restrictions. In doing so, they first of all, become a subordinates to an authority. The individual must be careful, however, that they do not just blindly follow orders, but still think for themselves and takes moral responsibility for their actions.

Bruno and Gretel are well-behaved children who have been taught to follow rules. They know that there will be consequences if they do not obey .
