Firstly, the news report “Inside the big business of being a social media influencer” suggests that the increasing use of influencers is a positive development because it will grow the influencer market and offer more opportunities to influencers and other businesses. It is also becoming an open market for more than just celebrities, meaning that even regular people have a chance of becoming influencers. In accordance with the news report, the influencer category, which was worth $1 billion in 2017, was projected to grow to $2.4 billion dollars in two years (ll. 9-10).
