In “That Uncertain Feeling: An Italian Living in London On Brexit Britain”, Cristina Ruiz sometimes uses logical arguments, facts, and statistical evidence to argue in favour of immigrants as an important and valuable group in British society.

For instance, Ruiz mentions: “But for me and the other 3 million EU nationals who came here legally to study or work, the most pressing question was: would we be allowed to stay?” (ll. 13-15). The number of immigrants who work and study in the UK show readers that these people make up an important part of the workforce and universities, and thus contribute to the UK economy. The numbers also indicate the large number of people who are worried about their residential status.

The same idea is further suggested by more detailed statistical evidence:
