In her article “That Uncertain Feeling: An Italian Living in London On Brexit Britain”, Cristina Ruiz attempts to explain how frustrating and upsetting the vote is for immigrants in the UK. To achieve this intention, Cristina Ruiz uses both her own experience and the experiences of people she knows.

There are multiple instances when Ruiz attempts to explain how frustrating and upsetting the vote is, looking at her shock (ll. 4-9), her experience applying for citizenship (ll. 103-112), and her feelings that she might not want to stay in Britain because she doesn’t feel  welcome (ll. 97-99). All these instances evoke powerful emotions that are intended to make readers understand the perspective of an immigrant following the Brexit vote.
