Secure children's right to education

Yousafzai’s main intention with her Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech is to persuade world leaders and the wider global audience that the issues of children’s lack of access to education need to be tackled and solved, as girls especially suffer from inequalities in this area.

To achieve this intention, Yousafzai uses logos by speaking about her own experience of being exposed to violence (p. 483, ll. 16-19) and being denied an education (p. 482, ll. 34-38), and shares similar experiences of girls from other countries (p. 483, ll. 23-32). This informs the audience about the types of difficulties encountered by girls across the world. This also creates ethos around her and around the girls she speaks of, as it shows that they have first-hand experience with being victimized and discriminated against. Therefore, it also portrays them as knowledgeable, reliable, and brave.
