Analysis

The analysis of the short story “I See You Never” by Ray Bradbury shows that it follows a linear, chronological plot structure. The narrative describes the last meeting of Mr. Ramirez and Mrs. O’Brian and its aftermath. There are several flashbacks in which the characters remember the past.

The main characters in the story are Mr. Ramirez and Mrs. O’Brian. Mr. Ramirez is Mrs. O’Brian’s tenant. They share an emotional farewell.

The physical setting is Los Angeles, United States of America. The time setting is close to the time the story was written, in 1947. The social setting explores immigration and culture clash.

The story is told from the point of view of a third-person narrator. The narrator seems to have insight into the thoughts of the main characters.

The language is neutral. The characters’ memories of the past are written in a nostalgic, almost poetic style.
