Characterization of Chicken Little

Chicken Little is the main character in the short story “Chicken Little Goes Too Far” by Margaret Atwood. 

Since this is a fable, he is supposed to represent a certain category of the population. The name “Little” could point to the fact that he is young, which might be one of the reasons why people do not take him seriously. 

We are led to believe that Chicken Little is impulsive: “he always had a short fuse” (l. 5). However, he only acts when he has enough information, and he is convinced that there is a problem: “Chicken Little read too many newspapers (...) listened to the radio too much, and watched too much television.
