In her “We Should All Be Feminists” TED talk, Adichie mainly expresses her views on feminism and gender roles in connection to Africa. To have a better understanding of her attitudes towards Africa and Nigeria, we recommend you take a look at Adichie’s speech called “The Danger of a Single Story”. In her speech, Adichie advises the audience to expand their perspective of Africa and to rely on more than a single story when they want to understand African experiences. 

Adichie’s Commencement Address at Wellesley College provides more insight into the author’s view on feminism and gender equality. Adichie addresses an audience of young female graduates and touches upon several topics mentioned in “We Should All Be Feminists”. For example, she talks about the gender pay gap in the US, which she briefly references in her TED talk when she mentions the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009. Adichie also uses personal stories to talk about gender roles in Nigeria, a topic that she also addresses in her TED talk.
