Structure

“Nobody's Story” by Charles Dickens has a linear plot structure, where the events happen in chronological order. 

The beginning of the story describes the river near which Nobody lives, introduces Nobody and his life: “He lived on the bank of a mighty river, broad and deep, which was always silently rolling on to a vast undiscovered ocean” (p.3. ll.1-3). 

The story centers around the implicit conflict between Nobody and the Bigwigs, who are passive and fail to help Nobody when he needs them to. There are no flashbacks and no foreshadowing of future events, but the ending provides a time skip to after Nobody’s death.

The climax of the story is the moment when Nobody speaks out to his master about the condition of his people:
