Donald Trump's Super Tuesday victory speech was delivered on the 1st of March 2016, in Palm Beach, Florida. The speech was delivered on Super Tuesday, as a response to the speaker winning the primary elections in five US states during the presidential campaign. The Super Tuesday is the day when most US states organize primary elections, meaning there is a high chance of predicting who will later win the primaries.

In the US, the presidential elections are organized in two stages. In the first stage, candidates compete inside their own party for becoming the only party nominee in the presidential race. This stage is known as primary elections. In the second stage, known as general elections, the nominees that have won the internal party elections compete for becoming the President of the US.

Donald Trump's Super Tuesday victory speech was delivered during the primary elections when he was still competing against rivals within his own party, such as the Republicans Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. This is why parts of his speech focus on these two opponents: “I want to congratulation Ted on the winning of Texas. He worked hard on he…” (ll. 9-10); “I know it was a very tough night for Marco Rubio. He had a tough night but he worked hard. He spent a lot of money.” (ll. 29-31)
