Summary

Jeremy Clarkson begins his article “Binge Drinking is Good for You” by describing a category of people who tend to establish social rules forbidding people from, for example, beat their children or hunt foxes.

While Clarkson claims that he does not know much about these people, he argues that their next target will be people who drink alcohol. 

Clarkson describes how attitudes to alcohol have changed over time, from promoting not drinking while driving or pregnant, to promoting not drinking at all. He details how both young and old people are warned against the dangers of drinking alcohol by being presented with a series of side effects.
