Sender

The sender of the essay “Which Floor?” is Loretta Ramkissoon, who is an Italian-Mauritian writer, translator, and teacher. Ramkissoon is a reliable sender because she has personal experience with the topic: life in a council estate.

Throughout the essay, Ramkissoon shares how she is part of the community living in Braithwaite Tower and how her family moved there a long time ago.

Ramkissoon also remembers her mother: 

In fact, I still sleep in my mum’s old room. It was her childhood bedroom and then it became mine.
