Randy Yang er an amerikansk filminstruktør og tekstforfatter. Han skrev og instruerede kortfilmen "Video" mens Black Lives Matter-bevægelsen var ved at blive populær på de sociale medier. Yang var samtidig i gang med at læse jura.
"Video" er blevet vist på flere kortfilmfestivaler - fx Slamdance i USA og Flickerfest i Australien.
Summary
Brianna and Shantell are two African-American teenage girls who film a white woman shouting racist abuse at a black homeless man. The woman argues that the man harassed her. As the girls leave, she follows them saying that she is a lawyer who worked hard to make partner at her firm and that the video would destroy her career. She offers them money for deleting the video. The girls eventually accept an offer of $500 each. As the woman goes inside the bank to take out the money, the girls begin to fight. Brianna wants to both take the money and post the video, convinced the woman deserves to be publicly shamed. Shantell wants to respect the deal with the woman. The woman intervenes between the girls and pays Brianna, who leaves. She helps Shantell, whose nose is bleeding. Shantell refuses to take the money and asks the woman what she sees when she looks at Shantell. The girl’s questions make the woman admit that she sees a black girl when she looks at her. Shantell leaves.
