“The Sin Bin or Lucy’s Heart” by Lucy Cross belongs to the post-modernist movement. The general ambiguity in the story is one such post-modernist element. Lucy’s perspective on the events is conflicted and ambiguous. She switches between wanting to please Bethan and wanting to be a good student. 

The non-linear plot, which follows Lucy’s stream of consciousness, rather than a chronological outline of the events, is another post-modernist element. 

The first-person narrator and the focus on the main character’s thought process is another post-modernist element. The story is focused on Lucy’s inner conflict, rather than on the external conflicts between the characters.
