Kamala Harris’ begins her Victory Speech by addressing the audience directly. She then quotes Congressman John Lewis. This captures the attention of her audience and also introduces one of the main topics of her speech. 

The speech can be split into three main parts which address in turn the three main topics of her speech: the importance of democracy, the importance of gender equality, and the work that she and Joe Biden will do to unite America and help heal it.
