Setting

Although the short story “You can’t touch me” by Blake Morrison does not mention it specifically, Morrison’s novel “The Last Weekend” from where the story is extracted, is set in East England, UK.

However, in the short story, the language with British colloquial and slang words also points that the action takes place somewhere in the UK. 

Time and physical setting

The time setting of the main events is the last term of the school year, early summer, while the time of the narrative is late August (ll. 174-178), but the exact year of the events is not disclosed.
