Title
The title of the short story is, in fact, the title of a song performed by David Cassidy. “Could It Be Forever” is a love song and contains the plea of a man who is in love with a woman who has stirred romantic feelings in him. The title is relevant to the story, as the narrator would have wanted for her love story with Dave to go on forever. At the same time, the title is part of a letter sent by the fictional Dave to the girl, in which he asks her whether she loves him or not.
