Characters

The main characters of the short story “Cat Person” by Kristen Roupenian are Margot and Robert. Margot, the main character, is a student who works in a movie theater at the concession stand. Robert is a man Margot meets at work. Margot begins a relationship with Robert, which becomes increasingly difficult for her to get out of.

The narrative introduces several other characters, like Margot’s roommate Tamara, Margot’s stepfather, and Margot’s friends, but, except for Tamara, they are not directly involved in the events.
