The writer of the article “Second Generasians” is Sarfraz Manzoor, a British journalist, broadcaster, documentary maker, and cultural commentator on British cultural TV programmes. He writes regularly for The Guardian, a British daily newspaper known for its reputation as a platform for liberal and left-wing editorial. He is also a presenter of documentaries on BBC Radio 4, a radio station that broadcasts news and programmes on topics such as science, history, drama, and comedy.  

The writer provides plenty of details about himself and his family in the article. For example, readers learn that Manzoor’s father left Pakistan in 1964, moving to Britain in search for work (p. 135, ll. 4-16). Manzoor himself was born in Pakistan and lived there until the age of 3: “I was only three years old when I joined my father, together with the rest of the family, in 1974.” (p. 136, ll. 46-2)
