Summary

Sarfraz Manzoor begins his article “Second Generasians” by saying that is it cool to be Asian in today’s Britain. Asian culture is popular in the media and it shows that there is a new confidence among British Asians.

He continues to describe how his father left his wife and children in Pakistan to move to Britain, in search for work.

Just like most immigrants, the writer’s father saw his country of origin, Pakistan, as his real home, but chose to come to Britain to offer his family a better life and more opportunities. However, he also feared that his children would forget their origins.
