Samantha
Samantha is a main character in the short story “Scene from Girlhood” by Kara Lark. She is also the narrator, and the events are seen through her eyes. She is in the eighth grade, which makes her around 13-14 years old. Her appearance is still that of a child: “brown hair flying free from pig tails, scarecrow arms and legs” (ll. 52-53).
