How Williams’ career evolved since the interview was taken

Williams’ album The Heavy Entertainment Show received mixed or average reviews overall, with some critics giving it a highly positive review, appreciating the expert production of the album, as well as its ability to entertain. Others have disapproved of its mix of styles, saying that, despite its efforts, the album is not memorable. The public, however, received it well, and the album debuted at number 1 on the UK albums chart.

In 2017, Williams launched his second biography, Reveal, written by Chris Heath, the writer of his first biography, Feel. The book goes into detail about his brief retirement – which he also mentions in Petridis’ article - his substance abuse during retirement, fatherhood, and his struggles with self-doubt.
