Camera

The film Gran Torino (2008) directed by Clint Eastwood uses a mixture of camera angles, movements, and perspectives for different effects. A lot of scenes feature point-of-view shots that show Walt’s perspective. The camera usually also follows Walt closely when he moves to give this same impression and handheld shots give some scenes a natural movement which creates a feeling of intimacy between the characters and the audience. At the same time, in critical moments, the use of handheld shots also highlights the tension in a scene, such as when Walt gets his gun ready when someone breaks into his gara...
