George W. Bush delivered his “9/11 Address to the Nation” speech on 11th of September, 2001, the day of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The speech was delivered from the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C. 

The September 11th attacks were a series of four terrorist attacks, carried out by 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists, who hijacked passenger planes and crashed three of them into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The fourth plane was initially steered towards Washington, D.C. but crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to regain control over the plane.

Within less than two hours, the plane crashes caused the collapse of the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center complex (also known as the Twin Towers), as well as the 7 World Trade Center tower.
