Narrator and point of view
“Crusader Rabbit” by Jess Mowry is a third-person narration. The narrator is outside the plot and conveys the events using the combined point of view of the two characters, Raglan and Jeremy.
Using Jeremy’s point of view encourages readers to relate to his story but also gives them a different perspective on Raglan: “Even after two months it still surprised Jeremy sometimes what Raglan could pull out from beneath the seat or the piled mess on the dash...” (ll. 50-52); “Jeremy watched through lowered lashes as Raglan's eyes changed, not so much softening as going light-years away. Jeremy hesitated…” (ll. 37-38)
However, most of the story is conveyed using Raglan’s perspective. This gives readers access to Raglan’s thoughts and helps them understand the way he relates to Jeremy:
