Intention

One of the intentions of the text “Co-parents, but not romantic partners” by Makda Ghebreslassie is to inform the viewers of the reasons why people turn to co-parenting. The main reason why people choose it is their age, which sometimes prevents them from having a child, especially when they are not part of a traditional, nuclear family. Another reason why people turn to co-parenting is the difficulty of adopting, as suggested by Schulz (ll. 12-13), who implies that it is hard for a single gay man to become a father.
