Summary

Bill Clinton begins the “I Have Sinned” speech by greeting the audience and by highlighting the importance of the prayer breakfast which he hosts at the White House. Clinton then tells the guests that he has some important things to say and highlights the impact that the day has on him. 

Clinton recalls the difficult times he has been through in the past weeks and confesses that he has sinned. He asks for forgiveness from his family, friends, members of staff, as well as from Monica Lewinsky, her family, and the American citizens. He claims that he is genuinely sorry for his actions and tells the audience that he asks for God’s help in his journey of repentance.
