Summary

Winston Churchill begins his speech “Their Finest Hour” by commenting on the Dunkirk evacuation and the situation of the British troops after the Battle of France, when German troops invaded France and Northern Europe. Churchill declares that the United Kingdom will persevere during the war and that members of the Government should not be held responsible for the military failure. Churchill also points out that he predicted the military disaster and mentions that the Government will discuss further steps in private.
