In this book about the article "The man who fell to earth" by the two journalists on The Guardian, Esther Addley and Rory McCarthy, we cover the essential points you need to include in an analysis.

First, we look at the structure of the article. We analyse which sections the article consists of and analyse the use of headings and subheadings as well.

Then we look at who the sender of the article is and who they intend as receivers of their message which include looking at the demographics which may be readers of The Guardian.

Analysing the argumentation of the article entails deciding which kind of arguments the writers of the article put forth and whether their argumentation can be said to be closed or open. Of course, any analysis of an argument also requires looking at rhetorical devices applied in the text as well as modes of appeal: How do the writers sell their message to the reader?

Finally, we look at the language used by the authors and discover that there much figurative language in the article.
