Summary

Neil Gaiman visits the Azraq refugee camp in Jordan and recounts his experience. In the refugee camp, Gaiman and the crew meet with Abu Hani and his wife Yalda, who have been in the camp for two weeks.

Abu Hani recounts how he used to own a supermarket in Syria until the authorities smashed his stock and later—when he restocked—closed the shop altogether. The couple recalls how their relatives died or disappeared without a trace.

Abu Hani and his wife first tried to cross the border without giving bribes, but he was severely beaten by the border officer. The next time, they borrowed money and bribed the officer, reaching Jordan.
