Argumentation

Part of your exam question requires you to focus on how Brendan O’Neil argues for his view in “Freedom of Speech and Right to Offend”. In general, a speaker can support his/her point of view through open/direct argumentation or hidden argumentation.

Open argumentation means a sender (speaker/writer) clearly exposes his claim and point of view. Conversely, hidden argumentation means the speaker introduces his perspective indirectly through examples and arguments which lead the receiver to draw the conclusion the speaker wants.
