Sender

The sender of the memoir A Rumor of War is Philip Caputo.

Born in 1941, Caputo is a renowned American author and journalist. From 1965-1966, Caputo served in Vietnam as a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. In total, he spent three years in the Marine Corps, during which time he earned several medals for his bravery and deeds. As you can see, the sender of the text is a man whose experience in the war became the basis for his memoir. A Rumor of War has sold millions of copies worldwide, and it was even adapted into a movie in 1980. What is more, as part of his journalistic career, Caputo covered important events in conflict zones and was even injured during that time.

When it comes to the choice of medium, we know that the memoir was published in 1977, just a few years after Caputo ended his service for the United States Marine Corps....
