Summary

In “Breakfast” by John Steinbeck, an unnamed narrator recalls one of his memories. The memory begins with the narrator describing the landscape surrounding him and the cold weather. He remembers walking down a country road and coming across a tent. He sees a young woman with a baby nearby. She appears to be preparing breakfast. Two men come out of the tent.
