Message

One of the messages of the short story “Zolo” by S. Bhattacharya-Woodward is that you have to take control of your own life before taking responsibility for others. This idea is mainly illustrated by Zolo, who attempts to overcome his fear of heights and control a dangerous situation that is within his reach. The story’s title, “Zolo”, suggests that he is alone in his challenge and that his ability to take control of his own situation comes only from him. 

Zolo’s experience also shows that mastering their fears can help people deal with other issues.
