Summary

The excerpt from Glennon Doyle’s memoir Untamed begins with Doyle recalling a visit to the zoo with her wife and three children. While exploring the zoo, they came across a sign advertising the Cheetah Run, the park's main event.

A zookeeper appeared with a yellow Labrador retriever on a leash instead of Tabitha the cheetah. The zookeeper explained that the dog, named Minnie, was Tabitha's best friend. The zookeeper pointed to a pink stuffed bunny tied to a jeep and explained that Minnie would chase the rabbit first while Tabitha watched so she could remember what she needed to do. Then she would be released to chase the bunny.
