Summary

“Tuesday” by Bret Easton Ellis starts with the narrator and main character, Patrick Bateman, leaving for an exclusive party. 

Shortly after Patrick arrives at the party, he starts to get bored. He mentions looking for someone to provide him with cocaine but bumps into a woman named Courtney. Courtney is trying to warn Patrick about someone named Luis, but Patrick ignores her and tells her that he is about to leave the party. Courtney jealously asks if he is going to another woman and Patrick eventually, he lies to her, saying that he has to return some videotapes. 

After he leaves the party, Patrick wanders through the streets of New York. He sees a black homeless man sleeping in front of an antique store. The homeless man has a cardboard sign sayings that he is hungry, and...
