In your analysis of Jawaharlal Nehru’s speech “Tryst with Destiny”, you should consider commenting on or discussing statements made by the speaker that are particularly interesting or controversial.

For example, one interesting aspect of the speech is that Nehru never makes any direct mention of the British rule or colonialism but manages to condense the injustice of it all in a simple phrase: “…and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance.” (p. 26, l.8). Consider also that it was not in the speaker’s interest to openly condemn the British Empire, as India became independent by an act of the British Parliament and after long political negotiations.
