Intention

Hannah Fearn’s main intention in her article “The ‘new normal’ for Britain? Poverty and destitution” is to criticize the government’s poverty policies. She openly blames Chancellor Rishi Sunak for “withdrawing Covid relief for hard-up families too rapidly” (l. 29). According to Fearn, Sunak could have done more for the people who experienced economic problems because of Covid.
