How the author engages the reader in Text 3

Part 2 of your exam question asks you to analyse how Lucie Morris-Marr engages the reader in Text 3, “I regret my baby’s name… not once, but twice!”, giving examples from the text. When working with this task, you can choose to focus on a number of different elements.

First of all, you may consider the way Morris-Marr presents her arguments, and whether she uses direct or indirect argumentation. You may also reflect on the language she chooses to use, looking at elements such as sentence structure and choice of words.
