Textual perspectives

An important speech to look at for more context is Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. In his speech, King promotes racial equality, calls attention to discrimination, and encourages unity. King’s speech remained relevant in the 1970s and the 1980s as well, decades after his death, and is considered one of the most important speeches in American history. 

We also advise you to look at other memorable speeches delivered by a member of the Kennedy family. In his Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy invites the American people to put an individual effort for America’s glory. In the speech, Kennedy reinforces his support for America’s allies and diplomatically asks the Soviet Union to collaborate for the sake of maintaining international peace.
