Dave is a character from the movie Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao. He has been living a nomadic lifestyle for a while. Dave was once married and has a son named James. By the end of the movie, he also has a grandson named Damien and stops traveling to move in with James and his wife Emily. It appears that Dave and James did not have a good relationship while James was growing up, as Dave was often away and did not know how to connect to his son.
