Summary
The narrator in “Me and Mr. Harry” by Batya Swift Yasgur, a young girl, is in a room next to the principal’s office, where she is being interrogated by Mrs. Morris, a social worker. The girl refuses to talk and the only thing she thinks about is Mr. Harry. Until she met him, the girl had problems with her parents and at school: her mother always yelled at her when she did not do her homework and house chores, her father ignored her, and her teachers reprimanded her for making mistakes.
