Style of language
In his speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2020, Joe Biden mainly uses formal language, which reflects the formal context of the speech. When it comes to the sentence structure, Biden primarily uses short and middle-length sentences, which make it easier for the audience to focus on his message: “Give people light. Those are words for our time”. These short sentences, combined with pauses, allow the audience to better focus on the meaning behind his words.
