Why spelling still matters in the digital age

The second article, written by Lee Simmons, was published in 2012 on the WIRED website. Lee Simmons is a defender of the traditional way of spelling. This article is a reply to one of Anne Trubek’s articles that defend alternative ways of spelling. Simmons partially agrees with Trubek, saying that he sees no problem with ignoring the dogmas when it comes to text messages or tweets. He believes that people who read the said messages and tweets are already familiar with the alternative language and do not encounter difficulties in deciphering.
